Giorgio Alexander Bikkal Avalos - Colors of Mancora
Giorgio Bikkal was born in Lima, the capital of Peru, in 1962. He studied law
at the University of San Martin de Porres, however, he left his career to become
an entrepreneur, writer, painter and photographer. Giorgio finds visual art as a simple and understandable way of sharing a message. Using an impressive combination of speed camera photoshooting with natural light, Giorgio considers photohooting as a language through which he expresses thoughts and feelings.
In 2010 he exhibited his photographic painting collection "My Environment"
in Spindleruv Mlyn. Since 2011 Giorgio Bikkal has been involved in promoting and expanding popularity of north Peruvian region Mancora. In May 2011, he launched
a European tour with an exhibition of 30 photographs "Colors of Mancora" in Bern.
In July, the exhibition moved to the Palace Flora in Prague, in August to the Gallery of Geological Survey of Romania in Bucharest. His exhibition returned to the Czech Republic in November, when it was presented in Pilsen and then in the Prague Gallery Julio Cortázar. In 2012, the exhibition will be presented in European cities such as Rome, Vienna, Barcelona, Berlin and Budapest.
Giorgio’s work "Colors of Mancora" is an insight in the soul of people and animals of northern Peru, his beloved part of the country. Despite the fact that the fishing Mancora Bay is very dry most of the year, the author pictures people and their daily live, such as visit to a marketplace, a beach or a desert.
The exhibition is an invitation to visit Manorca to experience and feel its beauty, color and soul.
